Last month, representatives from Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and SD Europe attended a meeting of the European Leagues Club Advisory Platform (CAP) in London.
The FSE Board convened in an unseasonably warm Munich last week (25th to 26th October) with a view to tackling some of the most pressing issues and action points that arose from the European Football Fans Congress in Lisbon. The meeting was kindly hosted by Club Nr. 12 e. V, an association of active FC Bayern München fans and a long-standing member of our network.
PROJECT MANAGER (FULL-TIME, 10 MONTHS) AT FOOTBALL SUPPORTERS EUROPE e. V
Football Supporters Europe eV (FSE) is an independent, democratic, and non-profit association of football fans, with members in over 45 UEFA nations. FSE organises and supports campaigns on subjects relevant to supporters, provides advice and guidance to supporters’ organisations, and liaises with institutions and governing bodies to represent supporters’ perspectives and interests.
Felix Tamsut is a sports journalist who writes about supporters’ issues for Duetsche Welle. Last week, FSE spoke to Felix about his footballing backstory, as well as the factors that drove him to focus his attention on the terraces, rather than the pitch.
The Sport and Rights Alliance (SRA), a global coalition of NGOs and trade unions committed to embedding human rights and anti-corruption in world sport, is dismayed by the tragic events last month in Iran, in which Sahar Khodayari, 29 years old, died from her wounds after setting herself on fire outside the court where she faced charges for “appearing in public without a hijab.”
Football fans face several challenges when travelling to watch their national team play, from late fixtures and visa requirements to high tickets prices and aggressive policing. In order to improve this situation, Football Supporters Europe (FSE) will continue to monitor conditions in away sectors for the third consecutive season.
