UEFA EURO2016 – RESPECT FAN CULTURE: FANS’ EMBASSIES’ CONFERENCE IN PARIS

More than 150 participants from 26 countries meet in Paris to prepare supporters’ services during UEFA EURO 2016. French Secretary of State for Sports, Thierry Braillard, will address the conference.

On 03 and 04 March 2016, Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and the Fédération Française de Football (F.F.F.) are hosting a conference – supported by UEFA – on RESPECT Fan Culture in order to give stakeholders the opportunity to discuss the implementation of Fans’ Embassies during UEFA EURO 2016. It also provides a platform to explain their role in the wider fan hosting concept to contribute to a festive atmosphere and security at the tournament.

FIFA: NOT ONE CANDIDATE PLEDGES ADEQUATE STEPS TO PREVENT HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSE AND CORRUPTION

FIFA still has to prove it is serious about dealing with human rights abuses and corruption linked to the World Cup. Not one of the organisation’s presidential candidates has either signed up to the full range of pledges presented to them by a group of leading NGOs ahead of the election next week (26 February), or articulated alternative measures that would effectively address the underlying issues.

100,000S OF SUPPORTERS FROM ACROSS EUROPE ADDRESS UEFA IN OPEN LETTER

More than 100 supporter umbrella groups from 18 countries call for UEFA to reconsider its disciplinary policy on racism.

With the kick-off of the next round of European club competition matches, Dynamo Kyiv was originally sanctioned to play their Champions League game against Manchester City behind closed doors. For Manchester City fans, this would have been the second successive year after being drawn against Dynamo Kiev in the knockout stages. Now UEFA surprisingly changed their decision and allowed supporters to attend the game.

EURO 2016: FANS’ EMBASSIES LOOK BACK AT SUCCESSFUL BUT CHALLENGING TOURNAMENT

Just like the new European Champions Portugal, Football Supporters Europe can announce that the Fans’ Embassies teams can look back at their most successful tournament in history: fan volunteers from 19 participating countries were in operation to guide travelling fans through all stages of EURO 2016. As members of Football Supporters Europe (FSE), we’re very happy to inform you that finally the dates and hosts for the 1st ever FSE SUMMER NETWORK MEETING are set!

The 1st FSE SUMMER NETWORK MEETING will take place from 14 JULY 2016 – 17 JULY 2016 in Izmir in Turkey! The gathering will be hosted by our dear friends and members from the supporters rights union TARAFTAR HAKLARI DERNEGI. They will be supported by TarafDer. A more detailed programme, details on the organisation and inexpensive accommodation options will be shared with you in the coming weeks.
