As the year draws to a close, we reflect on some of the defining moments for Football Supporters Europe (FSE) and the membership in 2025.
It has been a year of visibility, growth, and impact: from Fans’ Embassies at the Women’s EURO and a landmark European Football Fans Congress in Malmö, to the launch and rapid development of the Disability & Inclusion Fan Network, the delivery of multiple European-funded projects, and concrete progress in securing more affordable ticketing for EURO 2028 through our work with UEFA.
Alongside this, our members have driven change at national level. From relentless campaigning for supporters’ rights in Spain, to structured dialogue between fans and the National Association in Finland, and the long-awaited progress towards an Independent Football Regulator in England, the strength of organised supporters has been evident throughout the year.
Looking back on 2025, FSE and its members continue to consolidate our role as a key stakeholder in European football, steadily building influence, responsibility, and capacity to act in the interests of fans. The debates and discussions at EFFC in Malmö reflected both the urgency of the challenges we face and the determination within the membership to keep pushing forward.
That determination has been tested. This year has also seen sustained threats to the game we care about, from attempts to move domestic matches abroad, to ongoing concerns around the 2026 World Cup, including ticket pricing and the exclusion of fans with disabilities, and the persistence of unjustified away fan travel bans.
Looking ahead to 2026, there is much to build on and much to defend. We can achieve what we do because of the strength of the FSE membership. As the year ends, we encourage members to encourage like-minded supporters to join FSE and help make our collective voice even stronger.
Please note that the FSE Office will be closed from 19 December until 5 January. We wish all members a restful and enjoyable festive period, and we look forward to continuing this work together in 2026.
