FANS FROM ACROSS EUROPE ATTEND 2021 FSE BIENNIAL GENERAL MEETING

On 13th November, fans from 25 UEFA nations attended the 2021 Football Supporters Europe (FSE) Biennial General Meeting (BGM).

The FSE Office and Board convened in Lisbon, Portugal, kindly hosted by football club Estrela da Amadora and members Magia Tricolor. The pandemic and its resulting travel restrictions meant that other participants joined the meeting via Zoom.

Staff and Board members presented a full activity report, covering everything from anti-discrimination and UEFA club competitions to institutional relations and general campaigning, before submitting the organisation’s financial report.

Individual members and delegates then discussed, voted on, and adopted three policy motions:

  1. Prolongation of the Mandate of the FSE Board and Internal Auditors: Due to the SARS-CoV-2 pandemic and its ongoing social, economic, and logistical impact, this General Meeting proposes extending the mandate of the FSE Board and internal auditors until the next Biennial General Meeting.
  2. Formal Cooperation Agreement with European Leagues: This General Meeting mandates the FSE Board to enter into discussions with European Leagues with a view to signing a more formal cooperation agreement before the next Biennial General Meeting.
  3. Opposition to a Biennial World Cup: This General Meeting mandates FSE to do everything in its power to oppose and challenge FIFA’s biennial concept for the men’s and women’s World Cup.

We were also pleased to announce that the next BGM will take place in the summer of 2022 in Frankfurt with the support of the Eintracht Frankfurt Fan Department.

The full minutes of the meeting will be sent to members in the coming weeks.
