The European Football Fans Congress of Football Supporters Europe (FSE) takes place every second year and is the biggest gathering of football fans of its kind, and the only event where they can regularly exchange views with decision-makers and stakeholders in international football.

EURO 2016 EVALUATION MEETING: FANS EVALUATION OF EURO 2016 SETS TRACK FOR FUTURE TOURNAMENTS

The Fans’ Embassies driven by Football Supporters Europe (FSE) look back at their most successful tournament in history: fan volunteers from 19 participating countries were in operation to guide travelling fans through all stages of EURO 2016.

In Paris, the Fans’ Embassies met for an evaluation of their work and set tracks for their upcoming challenge: the World Cup 2018 in Russia.

REFUGEE PROJECTS FROM GERMANY AND CROATIA BENEFIT FROM #SECONDFANSHIRT DONATIONS

In September 2016 more donations have been awarded by Football Supporters Europe (FSE) for groups working with refugees showing that football fans around the continent welcome refugees fleeing war and persecution.

The FSE Committee decided to make contributions of 1000 euros each to two groups from Germany and Croatia.

THE COMEBACK OF STANDING IN UK FOOTBALL

After 26 years of being forced to sit Celtic supporters are the first to be officially allowed to stand as the first rail seating area on the UK mainland to hold spectators for a football match was unveiled at Celtic Park in July.

2,975 safe standing rail seats have been installed in one corner of Celtic Park and it was packed with fans for a friendly fixture against German side Wolfsburg.

FSE FAN SURVEY ON STADIUM BANS AND REPRESSION

We’re living in a time where more and more countries or football bodies are adopting measures such as preventative stadium bans, forcing entire supporter groups to disband, issue travel bans for a whole fanbase or they impose national fan ID cards on all supporters.

Only all too often, these measures are suggesting that all fans are a problem, they are imposed without sufficient evidence presented and/or without complying with basic judicial principles, such as hearings of the accused or the presumption of innocence before proven guilty.
