Dortmund FSE

Football Supporters Europe (FSE) are pleased to announce that the second transnational network meeting of ‘OUT! – Fighting Homophobia and Empowering LGBT+ Stakeholders in Football’ will take place on Thursday, 23rd January 2020, at Signal Iduna Park/Westfalenstadion, home to Borussia Dortmund.

This project, funded by the Erasmus+ Programme of the European Union and UEFA, aims to bring together different stakeholders to challenge LGBT+ prejudice at every level of the game.

The project is based around three pillars:
• Research into the current situation and experience of LGBT+ stakeholders in football.
• Exchange of best practice at three different transnational network meetings.
• Summary of the final outcomes and recommendations for action in a publicly available handbook at the end of the project.

The event will be attended by FSE and the main partners of the initiative—Fußballfans gegen Homophobie (FFGH), the Royal Belgian Football Association (KBVB/URBSFA), Pride in Football (PIF).

Club representatives, players and players union delegates from Scandinavia, England, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Belgium are all expected to contribute to the OUT! workshop, sharing experiences and good practice.

The workshop will contemplate how to achieve the project’s aims by considering the role of players and clubs.

The full agenda will follow shortly.

OUT! is co-funded by the Erasmus+ programme of the European Union and supported by UEFA, QFF, and FIFPro.
