testDuring the national break in September, the makers of "Fan.tastic Females - Football Her.Story" presented the FSE-based exhibition at the FC Sankt Pauli Museum at Millerntor.

There was an overwhelming response by a total of 2000 visitors.

The excitement and tension were obvious on the organisers' faces when the first European exhibition on female fan culture finally took place on Friday evening in front of 200 invited guests, after an endless number of working hours. Had they thought of everything? Would everything work out? Does the exhibition do justice to its protagonists and do the #FanTasticFemales also go down well with the general public?

“Fan.Tastic Females - Football Her.Story” is a DIY exhibition by football fans for football fans - about football fans! The exhibition portraits more than 80 women from over 20 European countries on their fan identity. The project is based with Football Supporters Europe and highlights the tremendous work that female football fans put into their respective clubs, fan scenes and football environments while often the image of a football fan is still male-dominated. It shows women from six different fan categories all united by the love for the game.

The exhibition has now gone on tour with following destinations confirmed for 2018 and many more to come in 2019:

Sönke Goldbeck, the museum director and FC St. Pauli supervisory board member, confirms: "Our museum is still very young and would not exist at all without an incredible amount of volunteer work - all the greater our respect for this fantastic and groundbreaking exhibition and the joy of making this extremely successful premiere a reality together.”

Daniela Wurbs: "We are still overwhelmed by the impressions of the weekend. Somehow it's hard to believe that after two years of voluntary work we've really made it. And after the opening is before the tour. This is going to be great!”

Sue Rudolph: "When a father told me how much his little daughter had already absorbed the exhibition after the first tour and not only knew almost all the women by name, but also explained that in a few years she might be a part of the Fan.Tastic Females herself, I knew that we did everything right. Because that's exactly one of the aims of the exhibition: to create role models and encourage women to step out of the shade self-confidently and let out the Fan.Tastic Female that slumbers in each and every one of us. We are loud, we are many and we are all fan.tastic!”
