testSince April 2017 a team of nearly 70 volunteers has been working on this unique exhibition on female football fans which now will go on a tour throughout Europe.

The exhibition tour starts on 8 September (St. Pauli Museum / Hamburg) including various events related to the topic. The full program and further information on the exhibition itself can be found here. Tour dates are already set until March 2019, further applications to host the exhibition (up until October 2019) have been placed already.

Fan.Tastic Females – Football Her.Story features more than 80 interviews with fans from 20 countries in Europe and beyond. It aims to show the history and participation of women in football from past to present. The exhibition therefore wants to tell the stories of fan.tastic women – about their love and passion for the game, about their way into the stands, their greatest, most impressive, funniest but also the less pleasant moments in football. The unique exhibition, put together by fans, for fans, seeks to illustrate the diversity and realities of female fan culture in European football (and beyond) – from the perspective of the protagonists themselves.

The main idea behind the project Fan.Tastic Females – Football Her.Story has also been from the beginning to make the exhibition accessible for as many fans and as many places and environments across Europe as possible.

This is why the project is designed as a multimedia touring exhibition, to allow it to be taken from A to B in relatively easy and cost-efficient ways. The content of the exhibition will be presented on mobile displays and banners in German and English, videos can be scanned and watched on the visitors‘ smartphones via QR codes.

Fan.Tastic Females – Football Her.Story has been funded and supported by Football Fans Against Homophobia, F_in - Women in Football, BallKULT e.V., Fan Club Frau Dörte Becker, Hypers 2001, KOS (Coordinating Centre of Fan Projects at the dsj, German Academy for Football Culture, SV Werder Bremen, Department of Supporting Members at FC St. Pauli v. 1910 e.V., TSV 1860 München, the PFiFF programme of the German Football League (DFL), DFB Culture Foundation, UEFA, COPA90 and Ballesterer Football Magazine.

Last but not least we thank numerous donators who did their bit to realize this exhibition by taking part in our Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign.
